If you’ve wondered how to support your clients and patients

when they are struggling with their baby’s sleep…

Join Heather Boyd, Occupational Therapist and Certified Infant & Family Sleep Professional in this two-part virtual workshop series to gain knowledge about the biology of infant sleep and strategies to support sleep for families of infants and very young children.

The Foundations of Infant & Child Sleep Workshop provides a strong foundation for understanding sleep and the evidence-based strategies to support it.

Heather brings her experience and her passion for developmental, nervous-system based approaches to sleep that support infants and their parents.

In this workshop, we’ll explore the science of sleep in infancy and early childhood so you can better support the babies and families with whom you work.

Infant sleep isn’t just about schedules and night-weaning:
it’s a window into development.

Workshop Description:

This workshop will explore how sleep develops through the first 3 years of life and into childhood, what’s typical (and what isn’t), and how underlying developmental processes—from reflexes to regulation—shape sleep patterns. We will also cover developmental, environmental, and relational barriers to sleep. You’ll walk away with clarity about what’s happening with sleep, confidence in how to explain it to parents, and a framework for integrating this knowledge into your therapeutic work.

This workshop describes and evaluates attachment-based and behaviour-based strategies. Published research is shared to provide you with an evidence-based foundation for supporting sleep with your clients.

Who this is for:

  • Pediatric Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists

  • IBCLCs

  • Social Workers and Mental Health Professionals

  • Infant Development Consultants

  • Anyone in pediatric practice who wants to strengthen their understanding of sleep as a foundation for supporting the growth and well-being of their clients or patients.

What to expect:

The two-part workshop will be live via zoom Tuesday April 14 and 21st from noon to 1pm EDT. Sessions are 1 hour each. Recordings will be available until April 30th 2026. You will have access to the workshop hub with additional resources, handouts, and slides.
